Bubblybards is a community for D&D creators, DMs, and players to share knowledge, homebrew content, and creativity. These guidelines help us maintain a welcoming, safe, and legally compliant community.
By using Bubblybards, you agree to follow these guidelines. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban.
1. Be Respectful & Kind
We're all here to enjoy D&D. Treat others with respect, even when you disagree.
β
Do:
- Be constructive and helpful in comments
- Celebrate others' creativity
- Provide feedback kindly and thoughtfully
- Assume good intentions
β Don't:
- Harass, bully, or threaten other users
- Use slurs, hate speech, or discriminatory language
- Attack creators personally (critique content, not people)
- Spam comments or derail discussions
- Engage in witch hunts or brigading
2. Respect Copyright & Intellectual Property
2.1 Wizards of the Coast Content
D&D is owned by Wizards of the Coast (WotC). Here's what you can and can't post:
β
Allowed (Open Game License):
- Game mechanics: Stats, abilities, rules references (e.g., "AC 15, 30 HP, Fire Resistance")
- Original homebrew: Your own monsters, classes, spells, items, settings
- Fan content: Your own adventures, campaigns, NPCs, lore
- General D&D terms: "dungeon master", "d20", "hit points", etc.
β Not Allowed (Copyrighted by WotC):
- Official monsters: Don't copy stat blocks for Beholders, Mind Flayers, etc. (create inspired versions instead)
- Official settings: Don't copy text from Forgotten Realms, Eberron, etc. (you can reference them)
- Official artwork: Don't use images from D&D books or products
- Entire book scans: Don't upload PDFs of official books
- Character art: Don't use copyrighted art without permission
π‘ Pro Tip: Instead of copying a Beholder, create a "Floating Eye Tyrant" with different abilities. This is legal, original, and often more fun!
2.2 Third-Party Content
- Always credit sources when sharing someone else's content or ideas
- Get permission before posting someone else's homebrew or art
- Use royalty-free images or your own photos/art
- Respect Creative Commons licenses (e.g., "CC BY-SA" requires attribution)
2.3 DMCA Takedown Process
If you believe content on Bubblybards infringes your copyright:
- Email hello@bubblybards.com with:
- URL of the infringing content
- Proof of copyright ownership
- Your contact information
- We will investigate within 48 hours
- If valid, content will be removed and user warned
- Repeat offenders will be banned
3. Prohibited Content
The following content is strictly forbidden:
β Illegal Content
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or exploitation
- Terrorism, extremism, or violence
- Drug trafficking or illegal activities
- Fraud, scams, or pyramid schemes
- Hacking, malware, or phishing
β Harmful Content
- Graphic violence or gore (outside of game context)
- Self-harm or suicide promotion
- Doxxing (sharing private information without consent)
- Non-consensual intimate images
β Sexually Explicit Content (NSFW)
Bubblybards is intended for ages 13+. NSFW content is not allowed:
- Pornography or sexual imagery
- Explicit sexual descriptions or erotic roleplay scenarios
- Fetish content or adult services
Mature Themes Are OK: D&D often includes themes like violence, horror, and mild romance. Use your judgment. If it wouldn't be appropriate for a 13-year-old, don't post it.
β Spam & Manipulation
- Mass posting or duplicate content
- Vote manipulation (fake accounts, brigading)
- Misleading titles or clickbait
- Excessive self-promotion without community engagement
- Links to malware, phishing, or scam sites
β Impersonation
- Pretending to be someone else (creator, staff, celebrity)
- Using misleading usernames or profile images
- Falsely claiming affiliation with brands or companies
β AI-Generated Content Rules
AI-generated content must follow the same rules as user-created content. Our AI features are powerful tools, but must be used responsibly.
β
Allowed AI Use:
- Generate original homebrew content (monsters, spells, items, NPCs, locations)
- Use AI to brainstorm ideas and overcome writer's block
- Edit and customize AI-generated content to fit your needs
- Share AI-generated content publicly (with proper disclosure)
- Monetize AI-generated content you created (on the platform)
- Use context-aware generation to create content that fits your campaign
β Prohibited AI Use:
- Generate copyrighted content: Don't prompt for Mind Flayers, Beholders, official settings, etc. (our filters block this)
- Generate NSFW content: Sexual, explicit, or inappropriate content (filters block this)
- Generate illegal content: Violence, self-harm, drugs, terrorism (filters block this)
- Spam generation: Flooding the platform with low-quality AI content
- Bypass filters: Attempting to trick the AI into generating prohibited content
- Claim full originality: Don't claim AI content is 100% your original work without disclosure
- Sell AI prompts: Don't monetize "prompt recipes" or AI generation services outside the platform
π‘ Disclosure Best Practices:
If you monetize AI-generated content, we recommend disclosing AI use in your description. This builds trust with subscribers and complies with emerging regulations.
- Recommended: "This content was AI-assisted and edited by a human"
- Not required for free content: But it's good practice and helps the community
- Why disclose? Transparency builds trust, and some jurisdictions may require AI disclosure
β οΈ Violations:
- First offense: Warning and content removal
- Repeated violations: Temporary suspension (7-30 days)
- Severe violations: Permanent account termination and AI access revoked
- Filter bypass attempts: Immediate suspension and potential legal action
π€ Remember: AI is a tool to enhance your creativity, not replace it. Use it to speed up your workflow, overcome writer's block, and create better content faster. Always review and edit AI output before publishing!
4. Monetization Guidelines (Master Creator Tier)
If you monetize your content, you have additional responsibilities:
β
Do:
- Clearly describe what subscribers get (be honest and specific)
- Deliver the content you promise
- Respond to subscriber inquiries within 48 hours
- Update subscribers about changes or delays
- Comply with all tax laws (report your income)
- Respect refund policies (all sales are non-refundable unless required by law)
β Don't:
- Make false or misleading claims about your content
- Charge for content you don't own (copyrighted material)
- Sell illegal products or services
- Engage in fraud, scams, or pyramid schemes
- Manipulate prices or fake subscriber counts
- Abandon subscribers without notice
β οΈ Warning: Fraudulent monetization will result in immediate account termination and potential legal action. We may also report you to Stripe and authorities.
5. Content Quality Standards
While we don't police creativity, we encourage high-quality contributions:
β
Best Practices:
- Use clear titles: "Homebrew Warlock Subclass: The Crimson Pact" (not "My Thing")
- Add descriptions: Explain what your content is and how to use it
- Proofread: Fix typos and formatting before publishing
- Tag correctly: Use relevant tags (homebrew, adventure, monster, etc.)
- Credit sources: If inspired by others, give credit
- Use images wisely: Add thumbnails and headers to make content visually appealing
β Low-Quality Content:
- Empty pages or placeholder text
- Unreadable formatting or walls of text
- Spam or duplicate posts
- Off-topic content (non-D&D unrelated to the community)
6. Privacy & Safety
6.1 Protect Your Privacy
- Don't share personal information (address, phone, etc.) publicly
- Use privacy settings to control who sees your content
- Be cautious when sharing your real name or location
6.2 Protect Others' Privacy
